Leg Up On Life's past events include returning favorites like NIGHT OF LIFE and one time engagements that bring
together artists for a unique one of a kind performance.
The global COVID-19 pandemic causing quarantined made Leg Up On Life produce it's first ever online showcase. Presented in partnership with
Full Out Creative, Life Stream brought several artists together to debut new performances both live and pre recorded while raising funds for OutRight Action International.
The inaugural ART|Pact took place in Spring 2019 bringing an audience to
[Le] Poisson Rouge to raise funds for Dancers Responding to Aids. The event had jaw dropping collaborations between Jenna Rubaii and Miles Keeney, Shonica Gooden and Corey Johnson, Hernando Umana and Daniel Gold, and more.
MATRIARCH marked the first all female identifying choreography showcase. This group of 14 lit up the Dixon Place stage to raise funds Planned Parenthood over the course of two shows on April 30th of 2018.
Kicking off the 2018 year of shows the Spoken Word Gala brought 12 choreographers together and challenged them to create brand new works only to spoken word. This also allowed artists the choice to bring in live spoken word collaborative artist or a pre recorded track.
The premiere Leg Up On Life performance, Leg Up: Showcase! took place at Dixon Place August 28th, 2017. This event performed two sold out performances and brought 15 different choreographers from different areas of the dance world together to raise funds for The Trevor Project.
