MELISSA SORKIN
LEG UP ON LIFE - NIGHT OF LIFE CHOREOGRAPHER DEBUT
MELISSA SORKIN
Melissa Sorkin is a dancer and choreographer who is focused on creating art with a purpose. As a dancer, Melissa has worked with artists such as JBalvin and Lil Uzi, performed as Micaela in the immersive broadway show "Carmen to Havana and Back," and is featured in her first Warner Bros film this year. Although performing is her passion, she has added choreographer to her title and choreographed her first off broadway show as well as short film. Recently this month, she was blessed to add to that list by choreographing the NBA's Latin Night Performance for the Brooklynettes and Team Hype. Tonight is Melissa's first time as a headlining choreographer for "Night of Life," and her last time performing in NYC (for now), as she relocates to Vegas to be an original cast member in Baz Halpin x Silent House's newest residency at the Wynn Hotel. As an artist and ally she continues to be inspired by the art that has derived from the LGBTQIA+ community, all the way down to her core. As her last performance in NYC she could not be more appreciative to dance in this tribute to the culture that captures the freedom, authenticity, and joy this community brings to the world.
